Too Late To Apologise?

So as we all know on Sunday Chris Brown headed over to Instagram and aired out his ex-bae Karrueche Tran's dirty laundry for the world to see.

With the help of a dissertation of a caption Brown informed fans, haters and everybody in between about their former bedroom antics and Miss Tran's jetsetting lifestyle *raises tea cup and takes a sip*

Realising his wrongdoing it didn't take long for the Loyal *takes another sip* singer to delete the post which he then followed with several irrelevant uploads, and clearly after a talk with his "advisors", who are yet to inform Chris that he is too much of a loose cannon to be on social media, he posted the following...

Now I don't for one moment doubt, similar to the post where he put her on blast, that Chris' apology is heartfelt however the damage has been done and it's definitely too late for apologises. I for one hoped the public naming and shaming would continue and as I noted in my previous post I was hoping that both Drake and Rihanna would pour some more fuel on the fire.

But seeing as that is seeming less likely to happen what I will say is that the following points I agree with Chris about regarding his apology are 1. Yes he is dumb and 2. He is way too emotional but at 25 he is old enough to know better especially given he faced a lot worse in his last serious relationship *puts the kettle on*

Meanwhile...

To be honest once upon a week ago I felt bad for Karrueche but she has allowed herself to be publicly shamed way too many times for any sympathy to be issued.I'm not going to go into too much detail but my biggest problem with Miss Tran is the fact she let people think she was the side chick when in fact she was the main chick while her man went galavanting with his ex-girlfriend which is something I'm still trying to get my head around.Anyway here's what she had to say on Twitter about the current situation with her IG account...

All in all there just really isn't enough tea in the world for any situation that involves Chris Brown because he doesn't understand the art of keeping it cute!

It just Got Very REAL!

Right so I have not blogged in ages and over the last few weeks I have been considering relaunching this blog and thanks to my fellow Team Taurus mate Chris Brown I'm back!

Now less than 12hrs ago I was telling my colleagues that there needs to be an emergency meeting to get Mr Brown removed from the Taurus gang as he was giving us a bad name, however following his recent Twitter and Instagram posts I'm reconsidering that notion.

Please pay close attention to the following three exhibits...

...And just in case you was not sure who he was referring to because a lot of you don't like to keep up...

Well I have to be up for church in like 4hrs and I need some time to let this well and truly marinate but what I need to happen by the time I wake up can be one or all of the following options:
A. Karrueche needs to respond
B. Drake needs to explain why he is the biggest sideman of the decade
C. Rihanna should just say something because it'd be rude not to
Finally...
D. Chris Brown should reveal some more about their relationship

As we all know there are several sides to a story (and even more when Drake is involved - it's not everyday sometimes find your own girl) and before Chris went IN, Miss Tran had a few words of her own which of course I have kindly listed below...

ps. Please excuse any typos I just had to say something, lol!

2012 So Far...

Whitney Houston
The music world stood still again last Saturday when it was announced that Whitney Houston had passed away. The I Will Always Love You singer was found submerged in her bathtub at the Beverly Hilton Hotel by a member of her entourage and pronounced dead on the scene, she was only 48-years-old.

Whitney leaves behind her 18-year-old daughter Bobbi Kristina and a stack of hits for us music lovers who will be mourning the loss of a music great. With her death comes much negativity regarding the role a painful drug addiction had to play in her life, and until we know for certain the cause of her untimely death let's remember Ms. Houston for the music she blessed us with - R.I.P. Whitney Houston (August 9, 1963 – February 11, 2012).

Blue Ivy Carter
At just over one month old Blue Ivy Carter has to be the world's most famous baby, kicking her rival Harper Seven to the curb the princess of music icons Beyonce and Jay Z has arrived.

First time parents welcomed their bundle into the world on January 7th but kept the world on our toes as we waited for a glimpse of the heir to throne, but then on February 10th the power couple released five very intimate snaps of their pride and joy.

Opting out of the traditional million dollar magazine spread they posted the pictures of their daughter on Tumblr site dedicated to her - helloblueivycarter.tumblr.com

Just as she finally got rid of that horrid red thing and went to seek refuge with a brown weave, Rihanna has let me down again by deciding to get involved in a blonde mess...

Which just reminds me of...

Wait! Do you see it now...

 No?

Not a massive Madonna fan myself but I did really enjoy watching this performance, although as she's 53-years-old I don't appreciate seeing so much of her skin.

Other than the fact she lip synced during the entire performance I do feel she gave it her all, I thoroughly enjoyed the way the tracks were mixed during the 13 minute show and the fact she brought my home boys LMFAO on stage to party rock with her put a massive smile on my face *shuffles*

For the halftime spectacular she also "sang" her new single 'Give Me All Your Luvin'' alongside Nicki Minaj & M.I.A. which overall was pretty awful, nothing can save that song but M.I.A. managed to amped up the lacklustre performance by flipping the bird to millions of viewers - good times.

Finally Madonna wrapped up the showing with Ceelo Green who in my opinion saved the entire thing because his vocals on 'Like A Prayer' were so on point.

Nicki Minaj - Stupid Hoe

It's official Nicki Minaj has lost the plot! However you have to admire the hype she continues to generate as she managed to make history on Vevo with her latest video which gained over 4.8 million viewers in 24 hours but all I have to say on this is ... NEXT!!

Fresh From The Editing Suite...

***UPDATED***

This post is dedicated to my little Sister - Happy Birthday!

I've gotta admit I'm quite pleased with myself with this edition of 'Fresh From The Editing Suite'.
It's like playing 6 degrees of seperation, the only artist who's missing from this is Beyonce.

Rihanna - Cheers

Although I do believe these are the laziest type of videos an artists can make I love them. Nothing beats seeing behind the scenes footage of all that goes on when these stars are on the road, especially when you're actually interested in what they get up to. 'Cheers' is yet another release from Rihanna's Loud album, and the video documents all she's been up to in the last few months. The video also shows her sporting her new hairstyle and colour which I'm really feeling; finally the red is dead and buried.

Nicki Minaj - Fly (feat. Rihanna)

Once upon a time I was a massive Nicki Minaj fan but since her "fashion" sense upgraded to crazy I've switched off. In this video she does well to rock a couple crazy looks, none of which help to put across the potentially inspiring story behind this song. The video isn't really anything special, and I'm really struggling to understand the bit when she goes all ninja on some dudes. And am I the only one who thinks the video was located on the exact same set as Chris Brown's video 'Next To You'; very coincidental.

Lil' Wayne - How To Love

So Tha Carter 4  is here. Anyway. Yeah the hype around Weezy is pretty much gone, and 'How To Love' isn't exactly the best song to use to try to resuscitate the hype. I know it's meant to be one of those deep tracks that make you think but I want a song I can dance to man. The story in the video good but it's been done before, that's not to say that any video treatments nowadays are unique but it could've been done in a refreshing way.

Jay Z & Kanye West - Otis

Ok, my hands are up, I was not excited about Jay & Kanye getting together to make an album because their bromance is a tad bit annoying. But it'd be rude not to appreciate the great music that they make when they hit the studio. 'Otis' unlike 'H.A.M.' is very enticing to the ear and also typical Kanye, and the added element of Jay Z makes it that much better. The video's fun to watch, like who doesn't want to see rappers "discreetly" show off how much money they have by making a video that doesn't have a lot to it.

J. Cole - Work Out

'Work Out' is definitely my favourite song in this bunch, what should I say about the brilliance that is J. Cole? Maybe I'll just start by saying he has smacked it, this is the feel good song of the summer (even though it's more or less over), this track makes going back to the office that bit more bearable, and it 100% gets you ready for the weekend. The video to accompany the track is pretty standard for Cole, not too much going on but you still wanna watch it to see what goes down. Looking forward to the album, which I shall be pre-ordering...COLE WORLD!!

And just in case you missed my six degrees of separation let me break it down for you:

Rihanna obviously features on Nicki Minaj's track, Nicki's part of Young Money which is Lil' Wayne's clique, Wayne and Jay Z have collaborated on tracks together and are the Mr. Carters, and then finally J. Cole was the first artist to be signed to Jay Z's label Roc Nation #SICK

Really Quick

I'm gonna just say it...Beyonce is the ultimate SWAGGERJACKER!!

Like my relationship with Rihanna, the relationship I have with Beyonce is definitely a love hate one. Beyonce has been in the industry for too long, for her not to know that she's meant to be a trendsetter not a follower of fashion. Sure Beyonce can sing and dance, at the same time, but one thing she isn't is original. Unlike "Queen Bey", Ri-Ri (although she's been accused of swaggerjacking too) is in some right a trendsetter.

Hand on my heart when I first saw the pictures of Beyonce shooting one of the scenes for her new single, 'Run The World (Girls)', her outfit immediately reminded me of what Rihanna wore in her video for 'Hard'. If you fail to see the similarity in the pictures above and below then you definitely have your "Bey-shades" on.

But let's be real, does the title of her new single not make you think, "Hold up...wasn't Rihanna on Jay Z's track? What's it called again?" It's called 'Run This Town', and we can even say the title somewhat swaggerjacks Rihanna's song 'Only Girl In The World'. C'mon Beyonce - and if you haven't seen the next picture then boy.

It's obvious Beyonce has an issue with Rihanna but instead of competing with the girl (which she shouldn't have to as Beyonce's talent speaks for itself) she needs to stay one step ahead and show us why she's been on the scene for over a decade. However, I guess Jay Z likes the idea of his Mrs and Mistress in matching outfits.

If you're anything like me, you'd already know of the buzz that Beyonce has created over her return to the spotlight and like me, you're already bored. We all know that apart from the music, Beyonce is dry! She never does anything shocking in her interviews, she always lets us know how blessed she is and never gives us anything juicy - so long live Rihanna (& Chris Brown *cheeky laugh*)

Video Of The Week

I saw this video on WorldStarHipHop and I was amazed. The duo in the video, Karmin, did a wicked job of covering Chris Brown's song 'Look At Me Now'. They definitely owned it; the lady smacked all the verses, they can both sing and  they switched it up to suit their style, her voice, and even her gender. As I know you're going to like this video, I highly recommend you check out Karmin's website, to see more covers and original music from the duo - KARMIN MUSIC

But for now enjoy:

30 Minutes Later...

So I was so taken back by Karmin's cover of 'Look At Me Now', that I became obsessed and watch loads of their videos, and here are my favorite covers from the duo. Be sure to check out their website and watch their videos and let me know what your favourites were. Enjoy:

Really Quick

Rihanna Long Braided Hairstyle Chris Brown Good Morning America Shirtless shattered window tattoos blonde hair
I'm Not Sure Who Irritates Me More...Probably Rihanna

So I've just come back from the library and I was just doing my last checks on celebrity gossip and of course I went to my number one source, the beloved, Concrete Loop, and obviously these two "entertainers" (above) were at the top of the page.

It's got to the point where I don't know which one out of Chris Brown and Rihanna gets under my skin more; like they are both just disgracing the face of young people in the industry. If you haven't heard already Chris Brown went on Good Morning America and when he was questioned about the "situation" that happened two years ago he started getting rude and then took it upon himself to go backstage and smash up his dressing room before storming out onto the street and acting a damn fool, whilst looking like a crackhead.

On the other hand, we've got Miss Umbrella (and yes, she is still rocking them red wigs up and down the world) who can no longer sell out shows; which means people have started paying attention to the fact she can't sing, she can't really dance and she has a bad attitude. But if anything, I'm happy that she's not selling tickets because it was only a couple weeks ago that she wanted to get rude on Twitter to Ciara about booking shows, and now who's struggling?

To round up, (as I've got to go to bed because I've got a lecture in 6 hours and 50 minutes), what goes around comes around. Chris Brown doesn't deserve to sell records and just move on with his life, until he is willing to really apologise and most importantly acknowledge how big a deal what he did two years ago to Rihanna was. As for Rihanna, she needs to realise that her s*** does stink, get a new weave and re-adjust her attitude; perhaps these two are a match made in Hollywood heaven.

Fresh From The Editing Suite...

Willow Smith - 21st Century Girl

It's undeniable that 'Whip My Hair' was a tune and the teeny pop princess who is none other than Willow Smith is trying her luck with her second single, '21st Century Girl'. I personally don't believe this song is as good as her first single but compared to other songs in the chart it's fine by me. Rather than sounding like a mini Rihanna, Willow has opted to go for a more Kesha sounding track.

Be sure to leave comments and let me know what you think of this song, laters xx

Hmmm...

Kicking off this month's 'Hmmm...' is a story I'm sure that you've all heard about but I figured I'd grace you all with my commentary on the topic; Ciara Vs. Rihanna - Twitter Beef.

They Both Get Nil Pwa For These Outfits
So Ciara appeared on Joan River's show, Fashion Police on E! and when she was asked to comment on an outfit that Rihanna wore she decided to air some irrelevant information about how Rihanna had blanked her at some party. CIARA ON FASHION POLICE  Following on from Ciara's unnecessary comment, Rihanna took it upon herself to go on Twitter and take digs at Ciara's career, which turned into yet another Twitter beef, which disappointingly lasted a whole 20 minutes. Here's what was said:

@Rihanna: My bad ci, did I 4get to tip you? #howrudeofme

@Ciara: Trust me Rhiana u dont want to see me on or off the stage

@Rihanna: U gangsta huh? Haaa

@Rihanna: Good luck bookin that stage u speak of

@Ciara: Pure comedy...

@Rihanna: Ciara baby I love u girl! U hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I'm heartbroken! That's y I retaliated this way! So sorry! #letsmakeup

@Ciara: Rhi u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows/everything. you threw me off in that party. Apology accepted. Let's chat in person

The exchange between the two didn't last very long but I'm gonna just say it Rihanna's a bitch. Although what Ciara said on Fashion Police was out of line Rihanna showed her true characteristics by tweeting what she did, and stooped very low by taking hits at Ciara's career. I think that Ciara on the other hand should've kept her mouth shut on TV but handled Rihanna's catty comments very well. However, it would've been nice if Ciara held up her side of the ring better by getting back at Rihanna because there was so much she could've said but such is life. All in all, their "beef" was dry - it has nothing on Raz B's and Chris Brown's Twitter beef which was epic and speaking of Chris Brown...

He Reminds Me Of Neutrino from So Solid Crew
I don't know what to make of this; I like Chris Brown's attempt at hiding his receding hairline but blonde - really? I think Chris Brown should hold back on making any rash decisions. He not too long ago released artwork for his album 'F.A.M.E.' and the graffiti style picture of himself had black hair, so on March 22nd when that album drops, I'm expecting to see that character with blonde hair. I definitely think Chris Brown has given Wiz Khalifa's song, 'Black & Yellow' a new definition.

Finally, Britney Spears is back and I wish she would just quit. I honestly believe that Britney doesn't have the same passion for music or being an entertainer as she once did. Her new video, 'Hold It Against Me' was a fail on some many different levels. The song isn't great and the video's worst; I would suggest that Ms. Spears takes so time to figure out what it is she wants to do with her life.
If you haven't seen it already, here it is:

Shut Up & Drive...To The Hairdressers!!

Before I get into this post I just wanna say to all you die hard Rihanna fans that I'm not a "hater" and I admire Rihanna as an artist. I also believe that Rihanna is one of a few stars that can adapt to various trends and works it as if it was made for her. Finally, I have all her albums and a couple of her songs are in my top played iTunes list. Now that I'm done grovelling, it's time to get down to business; so Rihanna's been trying out this red hair for a hot minute and I for one am not buying it.

The Centre Parting (New Year's Eve @ PURE)
I've blogged about Rihanna's bodged hair before; she obviously didn't read that post because if she had this problem would've been resolved. When I last touched on this subject she was rocking a little curly 'fro and I didn't love it but I liked it. Following on from that, she then rocked the hairstyle in the picture above, and as we can see it's not a good look for her. The main reason why that hairstyle doesn't work is because (and I apologise if that comes out rude) Rihanna's got a big forehead. Now some people can rock big foreheads - I'll get back to you with an example - but Rihanna isn't one of them. Another reason why this hairstyle doesn't quite work is because it's very granny-fied.

The Sideshow Bob Wig (Pre-Grammy Party)
See with this wig, I knew it was obvious that Rihanna was taking the mick, because I don't know what she was thinking; but ofcourse she wasn't thinking. I really didn't understand how this wig co-ordinated with what she was wearing but I'll high five her as the forehead was covered. What amuses me most about this wig is that fact that I'm not the only one who looked at it and was reminded of Sideshow Bob - good times.

The Monsterous Ponytail (NBA All Star Game)
*Sighs* This ponytail is wrong on sooo many levels. Firstly, ponytails are supposed to be slick. Secondly, I don't know where Rihanna's hairdresser, and I'm using that term extremely loosely, got that piece of weave that he or she stuck on the back of Rihanna's head; somebody needs to get fired. Finally, Rihanna obviously doesn't have any "real" friends because if she did someone would've have told her, "Oooh naa naa" - point blank, Rihanna needs to fix up and stop acting like her hair looks nice and find her way to a proper hairdresser's chair ASAP!

As J. Cole would say, girl you loosing your balance; Rihanna's it's time to go back to what you do best - short hair (preferably with a fringe to cover up your forehead). I was going to end this post by saying, as many say, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it", but as I'm not a total bitch, I'll end this post by uploading Rihanna's performance from the NBA All Star Game. I can't deny that I enjoyed the performance and I believe Rihanna did a good job but she still can't sing and even if she could sing I'm not looking past that ponytail. Hmmm...maybe I am a bit of a bitch.

Note To Self: YOU SHOULD BE DOING YOUR WORK!

Something I Think You Should Hear...

Kanye West - My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy

I'm going be honest - after '808s and Heartbreak', I was like, "Ok, obviously Kanye's going through some s**t so I'll allow him." I found that album very dissapointing and I did think Mr. West had lost it but then he reminded me why I have all his albums when he released 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy'.

This is album will go down as one of my favourite hip-hop albums of all time because Kanye West displayed some crazy talent. Song after song is perfect but moreso than achieving perfection, I feel like this album marks the return of real music. What excites me even more about this album is seeing what visuals Kanye will put to the words when he releases his singles, and if the 'Power' video is anything to go by then Mr. West should be recieveing numerous VMAs.

Favourites from this album have to be (1) All Of The Lights ft. Rihanna, Kid Cudi & many more, (2) Monster ft. Rick Ross, Jay Z & Nicki Minaj, and (3) So Appaulled ft. Jay Z, Pusha T, Prynce Cy Hi, Swizz Beatz & The RZA.

Here's the video for one of my favourite tracks off the album:

Kanye West - All Of The Lights ft. Rihanna & Kid Cudi

NOTE: This album review should've appeared much earlier as I did get the album hot on its release in November 2010 but I was busy and everything I've said about the album still applies to this very date.

Put That Song On Replay

For this month's edition I present to you the top five tunes from my iPod...

Rihanna - Rude Boy: 174 Plays
Rihanna HAS to be the queen of catchy hooks. In 2010 I must've sang the words "Come here rude boy, boy" over a thousand times and I think I'm almost there with her latest single 'What's My Name'. 'Rude Boy' was definitely the summer song of '10 and deserves to be at the top of my 'Top 25 Most Played' list on iTunes.

Birdman - Money 2 Blow ft. Drake & Lil' Wayne: 158 Plays
I'm not the biggest Birdman fan but this song is one of many examples that prove a (below) average rapper just needs to get a beat that's banging and add a featuring artist(s) that has a way with word and voila! - They end up with a hit record.

Trey Songz - Neighbors Know My Name: 157 Plays
Now Trey Songz has been on his grind for a while and he finally found some mainstream success with his third studio album 'Ready'. 'Neighbors Know My Name' was one out of 17 decent songs from his album and raised it the bar where R&B songs about the ablity to make your significant other to "say your name" are considered - good on ya Mr. Steal Your Girl.

Black Eyed Peas - Rock That Body: 116 Plays
One group on the music scene that are yet to fail to produce a hit are the Black Eyed Peas - they are just too creative as far as the music goes. 'Rock That Body' is the ultimate feel good song. Enough said.

Kelly Rowland - Commander ft. David Guetta: 94 Plays
Kelly Rowland's career didn't have the best start and although she came out with some good tracks, the fact still remains that she's not Beyoncé! I know it hurts but it's true; sad times for Kelly. However with the help of house sensation David Guetta Kelly managed to get some shine and the song's really good.

Hmmm...

Fellow Ice Cream Eaters,
I'm adding a new monthly (hopefully it'll become weekly) addition to this blog which will be called, "Hmmm...". This new addition will basically be random posts about things in the news, on websites, on the telly or even things that have happened to me in uni that I feel the need to share with you.

Kicking off my first "Hmmm..." is the love of my life and if you know me well you'll know I'm talking about none other than - that's right, you guessed it - OMARION!
Now, so as of recent his music hasn't been any good, (that's to say it was ever good to start off with) but boy oh boy is the brother fine. But to the point so it's Friday night and to avoid making a start to my essay I've been on WorldStarHipHop.com and as I was scrolling down this video caught my attention:

Now I get it, times are hard but really Omarion? Are you seriously considering becoming a Bollywood superstar? I think not, so as a huge fan please, please, please, take what you have left of your dignity and leave it out. In other news relating to Omarion, his former band mate and "friend" Raz B is currently acting a fool and has ended up getting slapped with a restraining order from Marques Houston (which if you ask me was well deserved - good on you Marques).

Next is my love to hate buddy and trust me she'll be making frequent appearances in future "Hmmm..." posts, it's the good girl gone bad, Rihanna. So I'm in the process of listening to her brand new album 'Loud' and on the first listen I'm not feeling it but I know sooner or later she'll have me saying along but I'm not here to talk about the music, I'm here to cuss discuss her hair. In the past it's seemed like our girl Ri-Ri couldn't go wrong on the styling but that is no longer the case, so I'm going to present you with three looks that she's recently rocked and explain why they just aren't cutting it.

                     Look 1                                                       Look 2                                                       Look 3
When I first saw Look 1 I was like, "Oooh no honey!" Seriously what was up with that hairdo and to add insult to injury the girl kept putting accessories in it.
Then Look 2 happened which just undid all the work her stylists' who thought, "Hey, we need to do something about the forehead" and re-exposed it, so that failed.
Which brings us to Look 3, now, I don't like it but I think it's much, much better than the other two looks.
  1. It's darker which makes her look less dead vampire-ish
  2. Her forehead is partly covered
  3. It's shorter which is such a good look for Rihanna.
I'm guessing this new hairstyle is an attempt to show that Ri-Ri is turning into a women, although I think she suits the edgier cuts and I hope she starts rocking the short hair again/soon/now would be nice.

To round up my "Hmmm..." for this evening is Mr. West! His new album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' is a masterpiece and that is all I've really got to say about that.
Kanye West has managed to put together another outstanding album and I take my hat off to him because the dude is never lost for words but definitely backs up all that talk with his music - genius! To pay homage to Yeezy (if you haven't watched it already) here's his Runaway video and don't worry if you don't understand it, I didn't get it either.

Until I sign in again eat as much ice cream as possible.
