Hmmm...

Take A Moment To Take This Photo In...
Are you with me now? Or do you need another minute? Yes - Idris Elba! The brother is fine, and I have to be real with you lot, I don't actually have anything to say about him, just that he's gorgeous. so moving along...

*Sighs* Keri Hilson. When Keri Hilson burst onto the scenes in 2008 I was definitely one of her biggest fans. Her music was good, her look was amazing and she didn't seem like your typical R&B singer - she was different. Then the more her popular she grew the more her style evolved, which I was down for, like everyone needs to switch it up a bit to stay relevant. Below I have selected six looks that Miss Hilson has rocked since her debut and the damage is there for your eyes to see...

These 3 Looks Showcase The Keri That I Loved and then...

Here's The Keri That I'm NOT Feeling!

As all these singers seem to do, Keri Hilson has become extremely annoying because she got obsessed with herself. She took someone's compliment about how pretty she is too far which lead her to release the very conceded song, 'Pretty Girl Rock'. That single is now certified gold and her head has swelled to about the same size as Kanye West's. However, I officially stopped being a fan when she premiered her video for 'The Way You Love Me', and just when I thought things couldn't get any worse - her sense of style also seems to be digressing and I don't know what her plans are, but I'm hoping it's to return to the Miss Keri Baby that I fell in love with.

Chris Brown - Beautiful People ft. Benny Benassi

Lastly, Chris Brown - there's no denying that Chris Brown gets on my nerves but unlike his ex-girlfriend the guy's got talent. He recently dyed his hair black again and I'm hoping that marks the end of his blonde alter-ego who thought he was invincible. Chris Brown should stick to the music and leave the fashion alone. Above is the video for his latest release from 'F.A.M.E'. The song 'Beautiful People' wasn't one of my favourites from the album (not that I have many favourites from the album) but it has definitely started to grow on me since the video came out. I like that the video is really simple and Chris has managed to do something a bit different from his usual, where he spazzes out whilst in-trance during a dance routine. I also enjoyed the cameos because he managed to get several heavy-hitters in a video that's less than 4 minutes.

I would like to end this on a positive but with Chris Brown that's never the case. This week Mr. Brown released the video to another single from 'F.A.M.E.' and there was honestly no need for it. I think it was Tuesday night when he was on Twitter boasting about the fact that the video would be on BET Uncut - like that's even a good thing? I really don't get what he is trying to do with his career because the video for 'Spend It All' is in direct contrast with the video for 'Beautiful People'. What Chris Brown needs to remember is that he is a Pop star, as much as he would like to think of himself as a R&B sensation, he's not - his music is of popular culture, he makes Pop music money, and therefore, he is a Pop star; meaning he has no business making videos where girls are booty-popping in their  underwear. But what I really don't get about the video for 'Spend It All' is what sector of his fans it's aimed at, assuming that the majority of his fans are females?

Hmmm...

Kicking off this month's 'Hmmm...' is a story I'm sure that you've all heard about but I figured I'd grace you all with my commentary on the topic; Ciara Vs. Rihanna - Twitter Beef.

They Both Get Nil Pwa For These Outfits
So Ciara appeared on Joan River's show, Fashion Police on E! and when she was asked to comment on an outfit that Rihanna wore she decided to air some irrelevant information about how Rihanna had blanked her at some party. CIARA ON FASHION POLICE  Following on from Ciara's unnecessary comment, Rihanna took it upon herself to go on Twitter and take digs at Ciara's career, which turned into yet another Twitter beef, which disappointingly lasted a whole 20 minutes. Here's what was said:

@Rihanna: My bad ci, did I 4get to tip you? #howrudeofme

@Ciara: Trust me Rhiana u dont want to see me on or off the stage

@Rihanna: U gangsta huh? Haaa

@Rihanna: Good luck bookin that stage u speak of

@Ciara: Pure comedy...

@Rihanna: Ciara baby I love u girl! U hurt my feelings real bad on TV! I'm heartbroken! That's y I retaliated this way! So sorry! #letsmakeup

@Ciara: Rhi u know its always been love since day 1! Doing shows/everything. you threw me off in that party. Apology accepted. Let's chat in person

The exchange between the two didn't last very long but I'm gonna just say it Rihanna's a bitch. Although what Ciara said on Fashion Police was out of line Rihanna showed her true characteristics by tweeting what she did, and stooped very low by taking hits at Ciara's career. I think that Ciara on the other hand should've kept her mouth shut on TV but handled Rihanna's catty comments very well. However, it would've been nice if Ciara held up her side of the ring better by getting back at Rihanna because there was so much she could've said but such is life. All in all, their "beef" was dry - it has nothing on Raz B's and Chris Brown's Twitter beef which was epic and speaking of Chris Brown...

He Reminds Me Of Neutrino from So Solid Crew
I don't know what to make of this; I like Chris Brown's attempt at hiding his receding hairline but blonde - really? I think Chris Brown should hold back on making any rash decisions. He not too long ago released artwork for his album 'F.A.M.E.' and the graffiti style picture of himself had black hair, so on March 22nd when that album drops, I'm expecting to see that character with blonde hair. I definitely think Chris Brown has given Wiz Khalifa's song, 'Black & Yellow' a new definition.

Finally, Britney Spears is back and I wish she would just quit. I honestly believe that Britney doesn't have the same passion for music or being an entertainer as she once did. Her new video, 'Hold It Against Me' was a fail on some many different levels. The song isn't great and the video's worst; I would suggest that Ms. Spears takes so time to figure out what it is she wants to do with her life.
If you haven't seen it already, here it is:

Hmmm...

I'm back again to give you another insight into my beautiful mind...

My first 'Hmmm...' for this month is about former B2K member, Raz B; now if you go back to my last 'Hmmm...', you'll recall I did briefly mention that Raz B had been hit with a restraining order from Marques Houston and I'm now gonna explain what all this mess is about (from my point of view).

Obviously Raz B's upset because he will always be known as the "ugly one" and because his solo career flopped (whatever them songs were about - who even knew he could sing?).
So one day whilst wallowing in self-pity he decided to tarnish B2K's image by claiming Marques Houston & Chris Stokes - his former manager and "cousin" - sexually abused him and his former band mates (J-boog, Lil' Fizz and Omarion).

Here is just one of the various videos that Raz B has continued to post to WorldStarHipHop.com:

However what is more worrying than what Raz B has been saying is the fact that none of the other B2K members have challenged Raz B accusations, which only makes me wonder what was really going on behind the scenes.

Usher, Usher, Usher; Usher is a man which many words can be ascribed to but as of recent the only word and item Usher needs to get to know is a COMB! His new hairstyle has definitely got us saying, "Oooh My God!" and if  you don't know what I'm on about then here's some pictures to show the degression:

Here He Is Looking Like The Man We Know & Love
Here He Is Looking Very Causal & Cute
And Now Here He Is Looking Dirty & Hungry
Finally it's with great displeasure I post this to my blog; I saw this video when it first came out and I was deeply hurt because Keri Hilson was my girl but we can not be friends if she continues down this line:

So there you have it - Keri Hilson becomes Keri Hoeson; VERY disappointed!

Hmmm...

Fellow Ice Cream Eaters,
I'm adding a new monthly (hopefully it'll become weekly) addition to this blog which will be called, "Hmmm...". This new addition will basically be random posts about things in the news, on websites, on the telly or even things that have happened to me in uni that I feel the need to share with you.

Kicking off my first "Hmmm..." is the love of my life and if you know me well you'll know I'm talking about none other than - that's right, you guessed it - OMARION!
Now, so as of recent his music hasn't been any good, (that's to say it was ever good to start off with) but boy oh boy is the brother fine. But to the point so it's Friday night and to avoid making a start to my essay I've been on WorldStarHipHop.com and as I was scrolling down this video caught my attention:

Now I get it, times are hard but really Omarion? Are you seriously considering becoming a Bollywood superstar? I think not, so as a huge fan please, please, please, take what you have left of your dignity and leave it out. In other news relating to Omarion, his former band mate and "friend" Raz B is currently acting a fool and has ended up getting slapped with a restraining order from Marques Houston (which if you ask me was well deserved - good on you Marques).

Next is my love to hate buddy and trust me she'll be making frequent appearances in future "Hmmm..." posts, it's the good girl gone bad, Rihanna. So I'm in the process of listening to her brand new album 'Loud' and on the first listen I'm not feeling it but I know sooner or later she'll have me saying along but I'm not here to talk about the music, I'm here to cuss discuss her hair. In the past it's seemed like our girl Ri-Ri couldn't go wrong on the styling but that is no longer the case, so I'm going to present you with three looks that she's recently rocked and explain why they just aren't cutting it.

                     Look 1                                                       Look 2                                                       Look 3
When I first saw Look 1 I was like, "Oooh no honey!" Seriously what was up with that hairdo and to add insult to injury the girl kept putting accessories in it.
Then Look 2 happened which just undid all the work her stylists' who thought, "Hey, we need to do something about the forehead" and re-exposed it, so that failed.
Which brings us to Look 3, now, I don't like it but I think it's much, much better than the other two looks.
  1. It's darker which makes her look less dead vampire-ish
  2. Her forehead is partly covered
  3. It's shorter which is such a good look for Rihanna.
I'm guessing this new hairstyle is an attempt to show that Ri-Ri is turning into a women, although I think she suits the edgier cuts and I hope she starts rocking the short hair again/soon/now would be nice.

To round up my "Hmmm..." for this evening is Mr. West! His new album 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' is a masterpiece and that is all I've really got to say about that.
Kanye West has managed to put together another outstanding album and I take my hat off to him because the dude is never lost for words but definitely backs up all that talk with his music - genius! To pay homage to Yeezy (if you haven't watched it already) here's his Runaway video and don't worry if you don't understand it, I didn't get it either.

Until I sign in again eat as much ice cream as possible.
